2ish Weeks with the Framework 13 pro

I haven't used the touchscreen much, which didn't really surprise me. I have a T480 with a touchscreen that feels more inviting to touch because my finger glides across it much more easily. The Framework's screen has a bit more stick-slip friction, so my finger tends to catch slightly rather than glide smoothly.

It's a bit like the difference between running your finger over a smooth plastic bottle versus a piece of metal when your fingers are sweaty, the plastic lets you glide, while the metal has that slight sticking and dragging sensation.

The screen is fantastic though. High resolution, great colors, nice aspect ratio (3:2). Viewing any type of content on this thing is a very pleasent experience.

They keyboard is also very nice. The only thing I dislike about it is that only caps lock has a light indicating whether it is on or not while I would have expected those to be on keys like fn lock and airplane mode as well.

I didn't expect to like the translucent black bezel as much as I did since on camera it looks like any light makes it look way too white / light compared to the rest of the machine but this doesn't seem to be the case. I sometimes stare at the components through the bezel which is pretty cool.

Being able to put your ports on either side is also very nice. I have 1 usb-c port on both sides which is nice for charging.

The touchpad is also super nice. I wish the touchscreen was like the touchpad. My finger just glides over it easy peasy. The clicks are very satisfiying too.
