Experimenting

Currently working on the re-write of my personal website: From Astro to Zola

Also tried basically vibe-coding some changes to Eloquent with OpenCodes free tier, which worked well enough.

Eloquent runs in the background even when you close the GUI to keep the languageTool standalone server running. It also puts itself into the list of autostarting applications which can't be turned off in the Eloquent GUI.

GNOME had enough toggles in its default settings application to prevent these behaviors, but I haven't found them on KDE Plasma yet. That's why I tried adding toggles for that in the Eloquent GUI instead.

I think the toggles should be there anyway and reviews of Eloquent have had similar complaints.

You can find the forked repo here. I've installed eloquent from Flathub, built a flatpak from the forked repo and installed that for my user account. I need to fix the autostart toggle as it doesn't work but at least Eloquent doesn't add itself to the autostarting applications anymore.

If I fix the autostart toggle I might do some cleanup because I know the changes aren't optimal, but they already work well enough for my use case.

Also also trying out Archlinux + KDE Plasma after trying it out in a VM.

Archinstall was used to set it up. It seemed pretty nice so I decided to wipe Ubuntu by installing Arch.

The Arch community recommends installing Arch from scratch atleast once but Archinstall works so well I'm unsure if I ever will.

Secureboot is off now though, but that hasn't caused trouble for my Windows 11 and Linux dualboot so I may or may not figure that out later.

For the record I'm running NVIDIA and currently haven't run into any issues.
